Maggie Koos, MD

My career in the healthcare industry began after receiving my bachelor's degree in chemistry. I started out selling home respiratory equipment which led to a successful six-year career in pharmaceutical sales. While working in sales, I realized I wanted to be the one providing care and returned to school. I obtained a certificate in healthcare administration and management, a master's in biomedical sciences, and my medical doctorate.

I was practicing medicine when the COVID-19 pandemic ignited a fire within me and I found my passion. At the start of the pandemic, I noticed that the isolation gowns we wore as part of our personal protective equipment (PPE) kept falling down or gaping open, exposing our scrub tops. When isolation gowns fail to maintain coverage, they are not meeting FDA standards and place all of us at greater risk of infection.

The solution is my newly designed, patented isolation gown that maintains its coverage, even as the wearer moves about. I firmly believe that all healthcare workers deserve PPE that is effective and meets FDA standards and KMI was founded to achieve this goal.
